MORTE SUBITE
"Cardioprints"
Is a selection of digital works drawn from Mort Subite – a conceptual project by Mexican visual artist Raúl López García.
This series proposes a critical reflection on human behavioral patterns that cross ethical boundaries toward forms of annihilation and extermination. Through denunciatory analogies of abuse, excess, and coexistential exploitation, the works articulate a visual discourse that confronts the viewer with the darker consequences of contemporary human conduct.
Conceived as a formal, aesthetic, and symbolic appeal, CARDIOPRINTS re-signifies the notion of death through a plastic and conceptual gaze, inviting interpretation from an existential perspective. The series encourages a reflective experience rooted in the viewer’s own sense of “art therapy,” understood here as a creative and transformative process aimed at healing, awareness, and the possibility of change toward a more conscious and humane world.
The accompanying video includes an excerpt from the essay “Sudden Death or the Spartan Path”, written by Adrián Morales Rodríguez (AdriáNomada), PhD in Aesthetics from the University of the Sorbonne, Paris, which provides a critical theoretical framework for understanding the conceptual and symbolic dimensions of RAÚL’s work.
